TIPS FOR VISITING BUDAPEST

Hello me dear readers,
As you already know I have recently been to an amazing capital of Hungary - Budapest. And as I promised you I want to share with you my tips on visiting this city.

1. Getting to Budapest. I decided to do something I do not usually do. And I do not want to do it again in the nearest future. I took an overnight train. All of the trains are different. Here I am commenting (complaining) about the train Warsaw-Prague. Conditions were fine: separate room, clean bed linen, water, tea and a little snack included in the price. But the service is terrible. Starting from the point of purchasing the ticket at the ticket office in Warsaw and continuing to the train attendant (can I call him this way?) who was rude with us the whole trip.  While paying the same price as a plane ticket you will get only spoilt mood by bad customer service.
2. Accommodation. I already mentioned in my previous post Eurostars Hotel where we stayed. I can recommend you to choose a hotel on the right side of the river (called Pest). I felt this part was more lively with all of the shops and restaurants. However, you are still 15 min walk from the sights of the left bank (Buda). Choose something close to the river and you will make a right choice.
3. Visiting / Seeing the sights. Budapest is a beautiful European city with its sights to see. The main spots worth visiting and taking photos are:
- St. Stephen's Basilica
- Fisherman's Bastion. Here is the best view on the city.
- Parliament.
- Beautiful bridges across the river.
4. Eating out. Mentioning the places we have visited during the weekend.
- Gerbeaud Cafe - symbolic confectionary in Budapest. Their hot chocolate is to die for!
- Comme Chez Soi. It has the first place on Tripadvisor so we decided to visit it. It is not possible to book it as they do not reply calls or e-mails. The restaurant is tiny. When we arrived there were no free places so we asked how long is it to wait for a table. The waiter told us - quote - Get out! Customer service is above zero. The waiter even tried to kind of push us out. Who cares about the food as the staff does not know how to behave?
- Sophie & Ben Bistro. Fine european cuisine.
Grancaffe Italian Corner. Very cute Italian restaurant. Tasty cuisine. Perfect place to rest after a long day of sightseeing.

Wishing you all a great week! New trips are ahead. :)
